George Goranitis is an Associate Attorney at Jacobs Legal, PLLC who joined the firm in 2017. Mr. Goranitis practices civil litigation with a focus in the areas of Mortgage Foreclosure Defense, Credit Card Debt Defense, and Student Loan Debt Defense.
Mr. Goranitis is a 2011 graduate of Florida International University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Political Philosophy and International Relations. He then attended St. Thomas University School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctorate in 2015.
While pursuing his law degree, Mr. Goranitis was involved in various organizations and received Deans’ list honors. He was an active member and competitor of his law school’s Mock Trial team where he represented St. Thomas University in national Mock Trial competitions. Additionally, he coached and competed as an oralist against over 700 law schools in more than 90 countries in the prestigious Phillip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Goranitis gained litigation experienced working for a Miami based civil defense firm representing various insurance companies in first and third-party insurance claim disputes. He also served as a judicial intern for a judge in the civil division of the 11th Judicial Circuit, where he assisted with court proceedings and performed research on various civil litigation issues. Mr. Goranitis has also been a volunteer guardian ad litem for the 11th Judicial Circuit since 2011 where he advocates of behalf of neglected and abused children in dependency proceedings.
A Miami native, Mr. Goranitis is fluent in English and Spanish. On his spare time, he enjoys reading, film, theater, and travel.
