Court E. Keeley is a shareholder at Jacobs Keeley, PLLC, and he leads the firm’s criminal law practice group. Mr. Keeley is an experienced trial attorney who focuses his practice on complex civil litigation and white-collar criminal defense.
He began his legal career in his hometown of Miami, Florida before moving to London, U.K. to work on international securities and bond transactions. In London, he structured transactions allowing foreign companies to raise funds internationally in compliance with the Securities and Exchange Commission Regulations and other laws of the United States of America. Mr. Keeley then moved his practice to Dubai, U.A.E., and began to represent investors against multinational corporations accused of securities fraud and antitrust law violations. In one such case, he worked on large class action lawsuit brought against a major international credit card company on behalf of smaller companies and investors.
Upon returning to the United States, Mr. Keeley worked for the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office from 2007 to 2013 as a prosecutor. While at the State Attorney’s Office, Mr. Keeley represented the State of Florida in prosecuting individuals accused of a wide variety of crimes, including but not limited to capital murder and sexual battery, kidnapping, rape, drug trafficking, armed robbery, complex fraud, human trafficking and violations of Florida’s RICO statutes. He conducted over forty trials for the State of Florida, including acting as lead prosecutor on various capital murder cases. As he progressed through the State Attorney’s Office, he worked in various specialized divisions such as the Career Criminal/Robbery Unit, the Human Trafficking Task Force and the Gang Strike Force.
Mr. Keeley now uses his diverse background and trial experience to assist the clients of Jacobs Keeley.
